If you have problems with drawings that are poorly aligned or registered, this is usually caused by bad calibration:
If you're using auto-feed to scan drawings, the software finds each drawing's pegholes using small pieces of black tape attached to the edge of the scan bed. It uses the position of the pegholes to align each drawing. If the software can't find a drawing's pegbar holes, it won't recognize the drawing.
Should the software fail to recognize a drawing, it inserts a blank into the scanned sequence with the message 'Missing Image':
The scanner software also displays this alert panel for a few seconds before continuing scanning:
The panel shows the part of the image where the software has looked for the pegholes, but failed to find a clear black image of them. You can use this image to help diagnose the problem. If necessary click on the Save Image button, so you can look at the image later on - after the panel is automatically closed.
If the holes don't appear at all in the image, the most likely reasons are:
If the holes are very faint in appearance, this is probably because:
If the holes are misshapen, this may be because:
Once you have diagnosed and corrected the reason for the failure, you can load the failed drawing again, select the 'Missing Image' in the Drawing Browser window, and rescan. If the failure was because the scanner fed multiple drawings at once, you'll also need to insert extra drawings into the Drawing Browser window.
